Achieving natural, authentic beauty through refining and reshaping the nose
The beauty of a nose that fits its face is that it does not call undue attention to itself, but rather acts as a harmonious bridge between the eyes and the lips. When the nose is oversized, or the bridge, tip or nostrils are poorly shaped, aesthetic balance is destroyed and the patient may experience low self-esteem regarding their looks. A well-executed rhinoplasty procedure can help optimize the overall facial presentation, maximizing your self-confidence and helping you to face the world without insecurity.

What is rhinoplasty?
Cosmetic rhinoplasty has the goal of correcting the appearance of the nasal bridge, tip and nostrils, improving the overall attractiveness of the features and directing the gaze towards the most important facial assets: the eyes and smile. A nose job in Pasadena with Dr. Ardesh can not only help to contour and refine the external structures of the nose, but it can also improve breathing and by association, sleeping.
Dr. Ardesh is a double board certified Facial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon who has extensive expertise in all areas of facial anatomy. His stunning yet natural outcomes are among the best rhinoplasty results that Pasadena has to offer.
What is revision rhinoplasty?
Revision rhinoplasty may be required when the cosmetic and functional goals of a primary rhinoplasty have not been met. This happens when a surgeon fails to either go far enough with the proposed changes, or goes too far and over-operates, removing too much cartilage or bone from the nose. Failed rhinoplasties can cause breathing anomalies, as well as significant distress and frustration.
Dr. Ardesh understands the leap of faith it takes to renew one’s hope and try again with a second surgery. He is highly skilled in the delicate and intricate art of revision rhinoplasty, delivering seamlessly natural outcomes that restore your appearance, well being and peace of mind.
What is ethnic rhinoplasty?
Dr. Ardesh performs rhinoplasty for Pasadena clients of all backgrounds, including those of African, Native American, Asian, Middle Eastern and Hispanic/Latinx heritage. With ethnic rhinoplasty, the goal is to create beautiful, nuanced results that preserve cultural identity and aesthetic standards while simultaneously reducing cosmetic flaws that interfere with self-confidence. Ethnic rhinoplasty has all the same goals as conventional rhinoplasty, but eschews Westernized standards that erase cultural features.
Dr. Ardesh’s unique blend of artistry and precision brings about an outcome that is elegant and nuanced, and perfectly suited to your cosmetic goals.
What is Dr. Ardesh’s approach to rhinoplasty?
Dr. Ardesh performs customized rhinoplasty, meaning every procedure is tailored individually to your specific goals. During surgery, Dr. Ardesh may remove excess cartilage and bone to help refine and contour the nasal scaffolding. If the client is seeking improved definition in the nose, Dr. Ardesh may employ cartilage grafting. A hump on the bridge may be reduced, and the nostrils may be reshaped. The total time for surgery is typically about 4 hours.
What is the difference between open and closed rhinoplasty?
Open rhinoplasty: With open rhinoplasty, the doctor will create a small incision at the base of the nose (columella), which allows him ample access to the entire nasal structure. Open rhinoplasty is appropriate for complex and in-depth rhinoplasties.
Closed rhinoplasty: For closed rhinoplasty, incisions are placed within the nostrils, thus no visible scarring ensues. Closed rhinoplasty is an excellent choice when subtle changes are required to help bring the nose into balance with the other features.

Who makes the best candidate for rhinoplasty?

- Their nose has finished growing
- They are in good mental and physical health
- They are free from any major medical issues such as bleeding disorders or hypertension
- They are non-smokers, or they are willing to quit before and after surgery
- They are realistic in their expectations for the procedure
- They are willing to follow Dr. Ardesh’s exact instructions before and after treatment
What will my recovery be like?
Day of surgery:
Prepare for your recovery by filling prescriptions in advance and arranging to have pillows propped up at home to keep your head elevated. Make sure you have clear liquids in stock to hydrate you while you recover, and enlist the help of a friend or family member to drive you home and perform household tasks until you feel better.
You will have a splint and packing in your nose to protect your results, and you may feel groggy as the anesthesia wears off.
First day home:
You will be resting and healing. Any discomfort will be mitigated by pain medications; some clients find they only need Tylenol. Your swelling and bruising will be at their peak.
One week post-op:
Swelling and bruising will have begun a steady decline, and your new, improved nasal shape will begin to appear. You may experience nasal stuffiness until the swelling dissipates, but this is perfectly normal and is no cause for alarm. Within 3-7 days you may feel well enough to begin light work activities. The splint is removed at around one week post-op.
One month post-op:
One month after surgery, your results are looking good and you are enjoying your new look. The features are more harmonious, and swelling has faded significantly. In fact, minor swelling may only be noticeable by you and your doctor. You are back to work and performing normal activities.
Six months post-op:
Your nose is almost fully healed, and your nasal stuffiness has disappeared. You are confident in your new appearance and you hardly think about the surgery at all.
One year post-op:
After one year, any residual nasal swelling has completely disappeared and there is no trace that you had the surgery done. Your new nose is as though it’s always been there, and you look and feel your best.
What are the costs for surgery?
Costs for rhinoplasty in Pasadena vary from client to client, as nose surgery is customized to your goals, anatomy and aesthetic preferences. It is not possible to give a quote without a detailed evaluation of your particular cosmetic and structural issues, but once Dr. Ardesh examines you at your private consultation, he will be able to cite the exact expenses for the procedure. These will include facility fees, anesthesia fees and surgeon’s fees, among others. If necessary, our office can help you to apply for financing from a variety of trusted healthcare lenders.
It’s important to note that costs should not be a guiding factor when choosing a surgeon, as one must consider the even higher price of having to undergo a revision procedure if you are not happy with your results. It’s best to focus on finding a surgeon that you feel comfortable with and who also has impeccable credentials, expertise in nose surgery and the artistry to deliver a graceful, natural-looking result.
