The Concern

Complete Removal in a High-Movement Area

The chin mole had become a long-standing aesthetic concern. Because the chin is central to the lower face and constantly involved in speaking, smiling, eating and expression, treatment required careful planning not only for removal, but also for how the area would be repaired and how the scar would mature over time.

02 | Pre-Procedure Assessment

Planning Around Movement, Tension, and Anatomy

Dr. Ardesh evaluated the mole's size, shape, location and projection. He also observed the patient while talking, smiling and opening and closing her mouth. These movements matter because the chin is not a static surface—the repair must tolerate normal facial motion while healing.

Multiple views document the mole's position, projection and relationship to the surrounding chin.

03 | The Molectomy™ Approach

Complete Excision, Followed by Thoughtful Repair

Dr. Ardesh performed Molectomy™ to completely excise the mole, including its deeper components and unwanted hair follicles. Once the lesion was removed, the remaining defect was repaired using advanced facial plastic surgery techniques designed for a high-movement area of the face.

Why the Closure Matters

Special attention was given to creating a strong closure while minimizing the final scar length. This is particularly important on the chin, where the skin and underlying tissues move repeatedly with expression, speech and eating.

Pathology Confirmation

Benign Nevus

The removed tissue was sent to a laboratory for microscopic examination by a board-certified pathologist. The pathology confirmed a benign nevus.

04 | Healing & Scar Maturation

Supporting the Skin Through Long-Term Healing

After surgery, the patient used Beauty Mark MD skincare and other scar-supportive measures as part of the healing and scar maturation process.

01

Silicone Scar Gel

Used as part of the postoperative scar-care routine.

02

Retinol Renewal Complex

Included later in the healing plan to support skin quality.

03

Microneedling

Used as part of scar maturation after the initial surgical healing phase.

05 | Nearly 2 Years After

A Smooth, Natural-Looking Chin Contour

Nearly two years after chin Molectomy™, the raised pigmented mole and unwanted hairs are no longer present. The chin has a smooth, natural-looking contour, and the mature surgical scar blends with the surrounding skin.

Add the Voices Behind the Transformation

Clinical Perspective

Dr. Ardesh Reviews the Case

A concise two-year follow-up discussion focused on the Molectomy™ approach, the challenge of operating in a high-movement area, scar maturation and the final natural-looking result.

Patient Story

Patient Experience at Nearly 2 Years

The patient interview adds lived experience and emotional context to the case, including why she pursued treatment and how she feels about the long-term result.

Clinical Context

For this case, the treatment goal extended beyond removing the visible mole. The surgical plan had to account for the chin's complex anatomy, the patient's tight skin and the constant movement created by normal expression, speaking and eating.

Patient Perspective

Hear about the experience directly from the patient, including why she pursued treatment and how she feels about the long-term result.

The Journey

From Raised Birthmark Mole to Long-Term Healed Result

Before

Raised, pigmented chin birthmark mole with unwanted hairs

Planning

Lesion size, projection, chin anatomy, skin tension and facial movement

Treatment

Molectomy™ with complete excision and advanced facial plastic surgery repair

Healing

Long-term scar maturation supported by postoperative skincare and microneedling

Outcome

Nearly two years later: smooth chin contour and a mature scar blending with surrounding skin

Why This Chin Case Required Careful Repair

The chin is a highly mobile region with overlapping muscles and nearby nerves that influence the smile. At age 17, the patient also had tight skin with limited laxity available for closure.

Planning therefore had to balance complete removal with a strong repair, minimized scar length and preservation of natural facial movement through healing.

Considering Mole Removal?

Every mole and every treatment area is different. A consultation with Dr. Ardesh can help determine an appropriate treatment approach based on the characteristics of the lesion, its location and individual treatment considerations.
